The article provides the reader with the issue of particular cognitive abilities typical for children with High Functioning Autism who goes to nursery school. HFA is a disability which inhibits functioning in all spheres - social, emotional and cognitive. The author, bringing the examples from her diagnostic practice, shows the problems of the functioning of children with HFA , stressing the role of nursery education in rehabilitation of the discussed difficulties. The firs part of the article is a theoretical section presenting cognitive development and nursery education of children with Asperger Syndrome. The second part is concentrated on the research methodology and the results of the research.
